New to Suffolk, found by Neil Mahler in Captains’s Wood
 


Grifola fondosa
The closest lookalike of P. umbellatus.
Appears on the base of Oak trees. Not common
 


Geastrum fornicatum
An earthstar known at only six sites in Suffolk. These were at Redgrave & Lopham Fen on October 3rd. Close-up on front cover
