Throughout this year weather data on rainfall, temperature, windspeed & direction and barometric pressure for Boxford in Suffolk has been available here on the SNS website.

Several fellow naturalists have been in touch to say they have found it useful to be able to relate sightings to precise Suffolk measurements on a particular day, even though they may have been conducting field work some distance from Boxford. In the future it may be possible to relate the number of days through the seasons with rainfall, temperature or air pressure, above or below certain amounts to particular natural phenomena. It is to be hoped that keeping an archive of records may therefore be useful to such research. All data are available for download on the main weather page and the author will be pleased to hear from anyone engaged in such research.
