CALLING ALL RECORDERS -
an opportunity to explore and record
at Higham Estate

SNS Recorders have been invited to visit and record the natural history, habitats and species at a small private estate (of approx. 600 acres) in Dedham Vale, owned by one of our members. The estate, which is situated in the Higham/Stratford St Mary area, has a wide variety of habitats, including woodland (mixed deciduous), some fine veteran oaks, grassland (rough pasture and dry acidic), arable, valley marshland that floods in winter, an extensive length of the river Stour and a short length of the river Brett, various ponds and streams, and a recently established reed-bed.

This is an exciting opportunity for all recorders to explore a new area that they would not normally be able to access. Recorder group visits can be arranged, or individual recorders can contact the owner, Carol Gurney, by telephoning 01206 337217 to make their own arrangements to visit. The best time to phone is during the evening.
