  ELECTION OF MEMBERS TO COUNCIL

Neil Sherman and Steve Piotrowski retire from Council in April 2003. Nominations are requested for two Council members to replace them. Nominees must be proposed and seconded by fully paid up members of the Society.

Nominations must be received by the Hon Secretary in writing before 31st January 2003.

  FIELD MEETINGS 2003

The 2003 Field Meetings Programme will be circulated in January 2003.

  THE SUFFOLK AVIFAUNA

Steve Piotrowski is working hard on this and expects to meet a publication deadline of February 2003.

  CONFERENCE 2003

2003 Conference is being planned for October 2003. The working title is “Species Recovery in the East of England”.

  BIRDS REPORT

Volunteers are sought for the positions of Editor and Assistant Editor of the Suffolk Birds Report. After five years as Editor, Gary Lowe is stepping down on completion of the present edition. Those who may be interested in becoming Ed or Assistant Ed are invited to talk to Gary in the first instance. An interest in publishing is more important than a detailed knowledge of birds.

SBRC and SNS Web pages have been updated Visit these at http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/sbrc There is quite a lot of new material about the work of SBRC online and you can now see details of SNS Recorders, constitution and books. SOG have just added a Checklist of Suffolk Birds to their pages, which are also accessed from the SBRC Homepage.
