MAMMAL TRACKS

Since the Suffolk Mammal Survey was launched in 1990, the Yellow-necked Mouse (Apodemus flavicollis) has been recorded in 55 tetrads (see map, page 44), an increase of 29 over the figure reported in Suffolk Natural History, 1993 (Trans. Suff. Nat. Soc. 29: 1 - 5). Well done all those of you who sent your records in to the Suffolk Biological Records Centres (SBRC).

The Mammal Society has also been investigating the distribution and status of this little-studied mammal and would be grateful if you would complete and return the enclosed questionnaire. Martin Sanford would also be pleased to receive your records for all three mice referred to in the questionnaire, if you have not already sent them to the SBRC (see SBRC page for details & map of received records.).
