1999 FIELD MEETINGS

The field meetings programme for 1999 is now starting to be assembled. To make sure that we have the right number and type of meetings I need to know what you would like. Please tell me the specific subjects or places you are interested in, and I will try to arrange an appropriate field meeting. I hope to achieve a balanced programme to include the following:

Social recreational meetings to enjoy/appreciate a particular site or species.

Training/education for members to learn more about a particular topic,
e.g. identification of a particular group of species or how to manage particular habitats.

'Simple' surveys for particular species in a given area (intended for non-specialists : training to be given at the beginning of the meeting).

Recording for those with existing expertise to record their particular interest/species on a given site.

Each meeting will have a defined purpose, a named leader, and an informal programme to ensure everyone knows what they're doing and when.

Please volunteer to lead a meeting on a subject of your choice if you feel able. If you haven't done this before, I'm happy to help with the small amount of planning that's needed.
